Which SICK products do you supply?

Photoelectric and proximity sensors, encoders, distance and laser measurement devices, protective devices such as light curtains and laser scanners, and the industrial communication modules and gateways used alongside them. If you have a SICK order number, we can look it up whether or not it appears in our online catalogue.

How do I identify the exact SICK sensor I need?

The order number on the device label is the surest route — SICK variants differ by sensing range, output type such as PNP or NPN, connector style and housing, and those differences matter in a working installation. Send a photo of the label, or the number plus the application, and we will confirm the exact variant before quoting.

Can you supply SICK light curtains, laser scanners and interlock switches?

Yes, we supply these protective devices. SICK rates them for a protective function; our role is to supply and bench-test the hardware, not to validate its use in your machine. Anything installed in a protective role should be commissioned and validated by the engineer responsible for the machine’s risk assessment, against the manufacturer’s own documentation.

Are refurbished or used SICK devices a sensible option?

For discontinued ranges they are often the only realistic option, and a tested used sensor is a normal way to keep an older line running. Where a device performs a protective function and a new unit is obtainable, we would generally point you to the new one. We will tell you plainly which situation you are in when we quote.

Can you repair a SICK sensor or encoder?

Sometimes. Small photoelectric and proximity sensors are usually more economic to replace than repair, whereas encoders, laser measurement devices and larger units are worth assessing. Send the model and the fault from our Repair page and we will tell you honestly whether a repair or a replacement is the better spend.

What warranty applies to SICK parts?

Our own 1-year warranty, on every condition we sell. We are not an authorised SICK distributor, so the manufacturer’s warranty does not come with the goods; ours replaces it, and every unit is bench-tested before it ships.

I have a discontinued SICK order number — can you find a replacement?

Usually. SICK supersedes ranges fairly regularly, and a discontinued order number often has a direct successor or a close functional equivalent. Send the number with a short description of what the device does in your application, and we will come back with the options and the differences that matter.

Do you supply SICK industrial communication and fieldbus modules?

Yes — the network modules, gateways and connection units that sit between SICK devices and the control system are part of the catalogue. Send the order number, and tell us which fieldbus the installation uses, since the same device family is often built for several networks.
